“Thinking herself back…” Dance Performance by Angeline Young, First Friday, February 5th 7:30pm

“I was at home, it was raining in the desert.  The sun was setting.”

Thinking herself back…is a dance piece by Angeline Young based on one woman’s birth story. The dance integrates use of sparse text and movement to explore narratives of transformation and the body as a living archive. The dance explores oral history, kinesthetic transmission, and ritual practice as methods to create a landscape in performance in order to unfold a new story that transcends the original spoken text.
